Recap: 2013

It's kind of hard to believe that in a matter of hours, it'll be a brand spanking new year. I am actually really excited for 2014, despite the anxiety I've been feeling as this day has been approaching. Anxiety about several things. But that is all beside the point. No need to dwell on that. Instead, let's talk about some accomplishments from this past year. Here are a a few highlights from 2013:

Met my first blogger friend (here)
Had a weekend-long blate with 3 other bloggers (here)
Wrote about our Trying to Conceive struggles (here & here)
Started and Completed the Project 365 challenge (here)
Bought two new cars (here)
Hubby got a job at Google (here)
Turned 26 years old (here)
Checked off several items from my 30 Before 30 list (here)
Celebrated two years of marriage (here)
Best Believe.
Here are just a few of my hopes for the 2014 year:
+ Become a mommy (either naturally, with medical assistance, or another method).
+ Continue making all A's in my graduate program. I graduate December 2014 with my master's degree! Yay for me.
+ Blog with purpose and don't write stupid, short, pointless posts.
+ Restart the Gluten Free diet. I only recently got off the diet due to the holidays, but I plan to start up again. It's a choice to be healthier - not because people think it's a "fad."
+ Continue to be the most loving, supportive wife that I can be.
+ Go to church every.single Sunday (unless we're out of town or have guests staying over) and continually grow my relationship with God!
I dunno about y'all but, I have a lot of hopes for 2014. In fact, I would be scared if I were the year "2014." There's a lot of pressure. It betta deliver. But at the end of the day, all I can do is live my life and things will fall into place exactly as God meant them (easier said than done). Can I get an Amen? Amen.
It's my hope that everyone gets what they want/need out of the new year. Most of all, it's my opinion that if you have a relationship with God, he'll take good care of you (and me)! Happy New Year and I'll see you on the flip side.

Christmas Swap

I sure love happy mail packages. Especially when the contents are a surprise. Thanks to Kate, I got the happiest Christmas package ever! I am so thankful that she had my name for this Christmas Swap link up!

When the package arrived, I literally tore into it. Thank goodness I didn't break/rip anything. My eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. Let.me.tell.you.
On a serious note, there's a few things I need to mention:

+ This candle smells like a little slice of heaven. I am literally obsessed with apple/cinnamon smelling stuff.
+ The bright pink socks are probably the softest that I've ever felt. #happyfeet
+ The scarf is absolutely my favorite. It reminds me of burlap, which I am obsessed with (nah doy).
+ I love every single item to pieces!

If you didn't join this year, there's always next year. In my opinion, it's pretty much the coolest ever. Anyways, peace and blessings to all! Merry Christmas!

I Admit That...

I admit that... I haven't been painting my nails very much lately. It makes my nails very sad and lonely without a nice colorful top coat.
I admit that... the two most common compliments that I get are 1) that I smell good, or 2) that people love my watch. I even had two grown men tell me how much they liked my watch just the other day.

I admit that... without even meaning to, I automatically dislike people if they're the "late" type. It annoys the $h*t outta me, actually. Just show up on time. How hard is that? #rantover

I admit that... I obsessively watch beauty blogger YouTube channels every night before falling asleep. I always pull up the newest video on my phone and watch until my heart is content.
I admit that... I'm still not done Christmas shopping. I plan on finishing this weekend. I had high hopes of being done by Thanksgiving and that just didn't happen. Does that make me a bad person? Ha!

I admit that... I choose to say "Merry Christmas" instead of Happy Holidays. After all, the entire purpose of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
I admit that... without fail, every single Christmas, I listen to Nsync's holiday CD. Can you say favie?

I admit that... I am so ready for The Bachelor to come back on TV. I always always always read the spoilers beforehand too. My hubby thinks I'm crazy. You can read the spoilers too (here)! Yes, I already know who Juan Pablo picks. Hoorah for me.
I admit that... I am beyond excited for my two week (of paid) Christmas vacation. Hey, working for the state has it's perks. I can't deny that.

If The Shoe Fits

For some reason, this activity reminded me of my teenage days when I would fill out quizzes from magazines. You know how they predicted your future, and who you would marry? And sometimes, I even got them as forwards in my email. Remember those days? Anyways, I likey. I am copying Mrs. Put a Bow on It. Because why not?

Weekend Update

AT&T really grinds my gears. But, it looks like we have cable, internet, and phone again. Knock on wood. That being said, it'll take me a little while to catch up on emails. Butttttt, hoorah for me, I will be off work starting Friday for two full weeks. I am beyond excited. I should have plenty of time to do emails during my break. So yea. There's that.

My weekend was great. It lasted 3 days, and I soaked up every split second of it. Here's a little lookie:
1. The lil ole town of West, TX (yes, that's an actual town - not just the direction) has the most tasty little bakery ever. I've been going there since I was little. Their strawberry kolaches are to die for! P.S. I just recently learned that iPhones don't have the word "kolache" in their dictionary. Furthermore, Microsoft Word keeps asking me if I'm spelling that word wrong. Do people not know what kolaches are?
2. Since I was in Dallas for the weekend, I got to meet up with two of my old colleges roomies. We went to Chipotle, duh. Fun times.
3. My honeybee and I just hanging out.
4. Cheesin hubby and I. He finally shaved his mustache. Hallelujah!
5. Plainview High School besties. So presh. Their 10 year H.S. reunion will be coming up very soon and we'll have another rendezvous! Hopefully it's in Lubbock though and not Plainview. That town is just too tiny for my liking. Plus, maybe I'll get to have a blate with Jessica while I'm there.

On another note, the semester is over. Thank ya Jesus! I am literally so thankful. I neeeeeed a break. I can't believe that this time next year I will have my Masters of Arts degree. EEK. #smartypants

Five on Friday

1. INTERNET. Our Internet, Cable and Phone service through AT&T is currently out. I am annoyed. Trust that. So, I am literally writing this post spur of the moment this morning AT WORK. I arrived early just so that I could blog. Am I crazy? Anyways, I have always loved our service with AT&T but since they recently screwed us over, I am not happy. I would never recommend them to a friend. We are locked into a contract but once it's up, we're switching. Anyways, I promise to comment on everyone's blog soon. I will also respond to emails when I get the chance.

2. PARTY. It's party day at work. And we're all rocking an Ugly Christmas Sweater! In my case... a sweater vest. Classic, really. I will take a better picture later. But it has a Santa Cowboy on the front, roping in a horse. Festive, right?
3. ULTA. Ulta is having an amazing sale on this Too Faced pallet. Best believe I picked that bad boy up. Now I don't need the "A few of my favorite things" pallet! They're really similar.

4. CANDY. Since Christmas is quickly approaching, people keep bringing sweet and treats to work and pretty much anywhere I go. This makes me sad considering it's gonna make me gain weight. But ... TIS THE SEASON. So I don't feel TOO bad :)

5. TARGET. I went to Target yesterday and raided their $1 section at the front. Have y'all seen all the goodies there? I just had to tell y'all because I got the cutest mini gold tree. It's presh. Target for the win.

Yep, that's the end of this post. I am not joking when I say that I wrote it on the spot. You should be proud. Happy Friday to all! P.S. I am linking up for Five on Friday today!

Christmas Decorations

I always want to decorate the house with Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, but my hubby just won't allow it. Such a bah-humbug, if you ask me. So when I do finally get to deck our house with all things Christmas, it makes me smile. I smile real big, in fact. Take a look at our holiday decorations. And don't forget to link up below!
Texas... duh.
An ornament from our first Christmas as newlyweds.
Burlap stockings of course. They're in the process of being monogrammed!
Well, isn't this little guy the cutest?
I like this picture because you can see the reflection of the tree.
DIY Snow Globe - rustic edition.
A mistletoe... because you can never kiss enough.
Just a little more Christmas spirit.
One of my favorite candles!
She's a beauty!
Yes, I made the bow at the top. I also recognize how janky it looks.
All lit up!
Another stocking picture.
