Betcha didn't know

What's your favorite holiday? Mine would be July 4th. Betcha didn't know that. I don't really have much of an explanation except I just really love our country. Is that weird of me to say!? Perhaps it's because I grew up right by Ft. Hood, which is the largest army base in the USA. Anyhow, I love this great place.

This weekend when bestie was visiting, I took her around town. I swear this relates to America. We had a blast catching up. Ross said he felt like he was in college again. (In college, Ross was always around to hear me and my girlfriends gossip. Let's just say he's used to it.) We ended up going to see a movie. Zero Dark Thirty to be exact. Y'all... can I just say something?

Out of 25 years of life, I have never seen a better movie. Maybe I'm a total nerd. Maybe... I'm not sure. But it was a brilliant movie. If you haven't seen it, you are missing out.
It was not only amazing acting, but it really makes you think about life outside of your normal routine. My life revolves around husband, our furbabies and work. The movie makes you realize you have so much to be grateful for. And we have so many people to thank for keeping our country safe - those fighting for it. So basically, you should go see the movie. Like, yesterday.

Ross & I started watching Homeland. We are late with jumping on that bandwagon. We already finished season one. It's so good. I can't wait to see what happens in season two. We've heard so many great things about it. Anyone else watching it!?

Back to the topic of my weekend with bestie! We had so much fun. Like I said, we did dinner and a movie. Then, we came back home and hung around our fire pit in the backyard. Our neighbors came over too!
We got some outdoor furniture as a Christmas present. And we got this awesome fire pit. Perfect for Texas winters. Wanna know why? Because it doesn't get as intensely freezing here like it does in the north. And it doesn't snow here. Well, at least very rarely. Therefore, outdoor fire pits are awesome.

After it started to get a little too windy, we went inside. Then we did some drinking.
Lots of drinking.

We slept in today and then Brittany had to get back to SA. So sad. But good news... I think she's coming back to visit in March. Hoorah! Anndddd, we're planning a girls trip to Fredericksburg in May.

Happy Sunday Funday y'all!

  1. I love that your favorite holiday is the 4th of July! Maybe you were in the army in another life ;) My husband wants to see Zero Dark Thirty SO BAD but I can't do it, not until he is out of the army. I also refuse to watch the Footlocker. I can't. I'm glad you had a great weekend with your bestie! Looks like you have a lot to look forward to!

  2. I need to take my hubby to see that movie! He's obsessed with the Military (maybe cause he's in it?) and is dying to see it!
