Fried food + Love = Happy V-Day

I don't know about you, but my Valentine's Day was fan-freaking-tastic. My husband is nothing short of amazing. Valentine's Day is simply a reminder of what I already knew. What I love most about my husband is that he loves me unconditionally. I don't think he feels that way about anyone else in this world... except me. After all, that's why marriage is so special. That makes me feel good. We are definitely soul mates. Sorry with the cheesiness but it's true!

We had a great evening. I came home to find flowers and a sweet card. Of course he wrote an additional sweet personalized note in the card, which made my heart happy. After that, we watched Vampire Diaries (don't judge!) and opened a bottle of Chardonnay. Once our show was over, hubby started cooking. We made our favorite meal. It was so delicious! Before our cheesecake dessert, we did a fun activity. You'll see it below in the photos. I think that is going to be a new tradition for us! :)

The last thing we did was watch "The Lucky One." It was a really good movie. What girl doesn't like Chick Flicks?
I walked in the house to see this sitting on the coffee table :)

Us!

Had to. We save all of our corks.

Best.Cook.Ever!

Yes, southerns love fried food.

The table was set all fancy-like

Yum, fried chicken and red potatoes.

Funny story about this cookbook. My grandma bought it when she was my age. Notice it says, "Mrs. Skinner" on it? Hello... that's my name! When Ross & I got engaged she gave it to me. Who would've known years down the line she would have a granddaughter named Mrs. Skinner!

I love Ross' answers. He had a few spelling errors, don't judge. :) #3... Yes, Jake Gyllenhaal is my celebrity crush. And Ross totally knows it too. He always says, "There's your man!" when he comes on TV. On #4 I was confused as first, but he said, "I like it when you pretend you're talking in my voice and say things." (See example here. Remember, "Ah yes, E=MC squared.") Also, #5 was partially right... My favorite color is blue and orange. Mostly blue though :). For #6, I think he meant 5 3/4. The last question was probably my favorite response. Haha! Typical.

#1, yes, our first kiss was in an elevator. And it was pretty steamy if I do say so myself. #7 was my favorite question. I believe in making memories, and it's so easy with my husband.

Ross' gift - a Datevitation!

  1. This is sooo sweet! I like those questions - where did you find those or did you come up with them? I think it's a great idea to do that every year. So cute! Glad y'all had a great night together!

  2. We save all of our corks, too! We have a big hurricane jar that's now full and I'm trying to think of something my non-crafty self can do with all of them! :)
