Random Wedding Wednesday

Pretty positive that moments before I walked down that long-awaited wedding aisle, I almost threw up. I kid you not. I was literally telling my photographer and 'maids that I've changed my mind about a big wedding. In that moment, I was thinking, "I wish Ross and I had eloped." Of course, I am glad we had the big wedding of my dreams, but it was some scary stuff, y'all.

To get you through the jitters of walking down the aisle, I've got some tips for you. From one bride to another. (Yup, once a bride, always a bride. Duh.) P.S. If you wanna see more about my wedding, go here! Hubby and I got married October 1, 2011.

Before walking down the aisle, you should...
... Scream "I'M GETTING MARRIED" to your best friend! Bridesmaids should be your cheerleaders throughout your entire engagement. Make sure you pick the right ladies. They will be almost as excited as you are to see you marry your best friend!

... Drink a little alcohol. Or a lot. Whatever meets your fancy. It will calm your nerves. This is highly suggested. My drink of choice on our wedding day was Ballatore sparkling wine.

... Blow a fan up your dress. My dress was heavy and all satin + tulle; there was no other way to get airflow without the fan. Everyone, especially your soon-to-be-hubby will thank you. I speak the truth. I think we had about 5 fans floating around the room. I got married in October in Texas. The weather was 70ish degrees, but the dress doesn't play around. Bring fans.

... Say a little prayer. Your wedding day has finally arrived and everything is perfect. Well, everything is perfect as long as you've got your dress and your man. Everything else will fall into place. On our wedding day, I honestly couldn't tell you what was right/wrong. It just flowed together perfectly and work out like it was supposed to.

... Look out the window 5 minutes before you walk down the aisle. Your man should be down there waiting for you! Plus you'll get a sneak peak of how many people showed up to support you. This part probably made me the queasiest, but it was also so exciting. Side note: notice the other fan sitting on the counter?

May the wedding juju ever be in your favor!

  2. OMG I was the same way right before walking down the aisle! I was standing over a table in the bathroom trying to breath and not have a panic attack, haha! It was ridiculous. But as soon as the doors opened I was fine. And I have a fan picture too, ha! Those dresses are HEAVY and HOT! I have a picture of a bridesmaid holding a fan underneath my dress, haha!

  8. Right before our ceremony, I asked no less than 3 people if they could go get my Ross and we could just get married in my dressing room! Of course, I'm so glad that they didn't let me do that, but I was so nervous!
