DIY: At-Home Gel Nails

Pinterest has done it again.

Quick thing: I obsess over painting my nails. I literally paint them every couple of days because I despise chipped nails. YUCK! I seriously cringe at the sight of chipped nails. Ladies, get that under control. So, to make everyone's live easier (including mine), I saw from Pinterest an at-home gel nail remedy! Yay!

Here's what you'll need:
+Some type of Gel Polish. I used Sally Hansen's Acrylic Gel polish, but there are a TON of options out there. This one seemed to work the best for my nails. If it doesn't work, give another brand a whirl.

+Nail polish of your choice. I used Haute as Hello by Essie.

+Top coat. I use Sally Hansen's No-Chip top coat.

The steps are pretty simple too:
+Use cotton ball and acetone or nail polish remover to remove any oil from your nails. That way the polish will hold much better!

+Paint 1 coat of your gel polish. Let that dry completely.

+Paint two coats of your nail polish, allowing time in between coats to dry.

+Once completely dry, protect your polish by adding a top coat.
Yes, it's really that easy. You can thank me now or later... that's neither here nor there. Anyways, Happy Hump Day friends! And on that note, enjoy this flipping awesome commercial.

  6. This is a great idea! I know there have been some health and safety issues with the salon gel nails so this is a great alternative! Thanks! Susan
