Target Beauty Box Review

A few months ago, I came across an awesome Target offer. Basically they were advertising a $5 mystery beauty box for the first 20k people that signed up. At first, it seemed too good to be true. But I figured, "why not?" Since it was only $5, I was willing to gamble on it. It's no longer available for purchase but if I hear of this opportunity again, I will be sure to blog about it! I just didn't originally want to blog about it until I knew it was real!

Anyways, when the box arrived, I smiled from ear to ear. Totally worth a five dollar bill.

Let's take a peak.
+ La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatement (sample size): A full size tube of this stuff is $37. You can purchase it here. I'll be honest, I haven't used this sample product yet because my face has surprisingly been breakout-free lately. I have no idea why, but I am loving it. So, I am saving this bad boy for an emergency situation.

+ L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Liquid BB Cream (sample size):  A full size tube of this cream is around $8. You can purchase it here. Maybe I am just not a BB cream person, but I wasn't a huge fan. The color came out very strange initially. I am guessing that perhaps it's because it will change to the color of your skin once it's applied - I am not sure? But the coverage was not really acceptable, in my opinion. I like a nice full coverage, even in the heat of summer. So this didn't really work for me.

+ Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (full size): Value is around $8. You can purchase here. I haven't used the exact nail strips that I received in the box, but I have used them in the past with a different pattern. I really like them a lot, but you have to practice applying them correctly. I butchered it the first time. In the future, I would probably just apply this product to only one nail (accent nail) and paint the rest. Just a personal preference.

+ Fekkai Glossing Cream (travel size): A full size tube is around $25. You can purchase here. This is BY FAR one of my newest favorite products. I am so happy that Target sent me this because now I am addicted. It does so much for my hair. After getting out of the shower, while my hair is damp, I put a pea size of this in my hands, and rub it through my hair. Then I follow up by adding a few sprays of It's a 10! My hair has never felt more full and shiny. It feels really healthy to me! Not to mention, the smell of this stuff is awesome. I would definitely recommend this product!

+ Gillette Venus & Olay Razor (full size): Value is around $9. You can purchase here. I have come to absolutely love this razor. I use it specifically for my underarms. I have an entirely different razor that I use for my legs and arms. The razor has a moisturizing piece that is attached and it makes for such a smooth shave. In the past, I have gotten really bad razor burn under my armpits. But with this, I don't have to worry about it. I will most definitely continue purchasing this! I would highly recommend trying it out if you also experience razor burn quite frequently.

Have you used any of these products before? Are there similar products that you swear by?

Happy Thursday, friends!

  1. What an awesome idea! I love Target! The only item I've used is the razor, which I am in love with!

  2. So cool! Don't worry, I'm not very good at applying those nail strips either lol. I always get them wrinkled.

  3. I have mixed feelings about my BB cream. Initially when I put it on it looks weird, but about 30 minutes late it looks alot better and more evened with my skin tone. Does that make sense?

  5. I have been totally eyeing the sally nail strips... for an accent nail like you mentioned..and I say only an accent nail because by the time I am done ruining the rest of them with practice, I will only have one left haha :)

  6. The only one of those I've used is the BB cream, and I didn't like it either. It just doesn't look very good. The coverage isn't that great, and it almost looks...muddled. I have no idea if that communicates what I'm trying to describe, ha. I'd like to try that razor though. I've gotten the $5 target deal before and I've liked it! I didn't see this one though :)
