Beauty Favorites: Foundations

Honest to goodness, I don't know what's gotten into me but I have been a pretty huge fan of trying new beauty related products. I think my favorite thus far is trying foundations. The good news is that I discovered amazing new drugstore (and affordable) options. The bad news: I ran out of coupons and I need additional ones to save even more money! Don't get me wrong, I love my prestige products... I pretty much swear by them. But you can find great options at the drugstore too. Let's check out my favorites below!

A few things you should know:
+ I have listed out these products in no particular order.
+ I prefer a full coverage look. Call me crazy, but I like my makeup to be noticeable.
+ I have extremely oily skin. All of these products work great with my skin type.
Drugstore:
Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-In-1 Foundation. For the drugstore, this is the single best foundation I have come across. Top pros: very affordable, great color section, full coverage, and it has a nice mixture of a matte/dewy finish, if that even makes sense. Confusing, I know. But that's the best way I can put it.

NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Liquid Foundation. What I love so much about this foundation is that it genuinely does mattify the skin. I hate it when products advertise to do that, yet they do not. If you're like me and you prefer a matte finish, then this stuff will make your face very happy! I have heard beauty bloggers compare this foundation to Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet, and that foundation is much pricier.

Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector. I can't even believe this is considered a BB Cream. It is amazing! In fact, it is definitely my most used foundation as of here lately. I have been wearing it for the past week straight. The great thing is that it's available for combo/oily skin (which I use) and normal/dry skin. It's thick, creamy, and a little slice of heaven.

Prestige:
Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation. Absolutely, hands down THE very best full coverage foundation that I've ever come across. If I had to pick a favorite foundation in all the world, this would be the one. I can't describe (in words) just how much I love this stuff. This foundation is great because a little goes a long way. That means that the bottle will last awhile. One single pump will cover my entire face! And keep in mind that I like a full coverage look. That should tell you a lot!

Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation. Anytime I want an absolutely flawless looking face, this is my go-to foundation. I recently decided that I would only use it for special events because I want to savor ever last drop. Right around the holidays, we took a million pictures. I wore this foundation in every photo and it worked out wonderfully. I did a longer review on this product here.

In sum, if I had to list them in order, it would be this: 1) Kat Von D, 2) Garnier, 3) Sephora, 4) Cover Girl, 5) NYX. So now I'm curious - have y'all tried these? If so, what do you think about them?

  1. Do you like the Garnier BB cream more than the Urban Decay one we got in Nashville (I think you bought one?). I'm almost out of the Urban Decay one so I wasn't sure if I should try the Garnier one. I've heard great things about it! HELP ME!

  6. I still have the Sephora Air Brush on my list to buy. No Spend January be over already!!! I do use the Covergirl Outlast in the Winter and I love it. Otherwise I use the L'Oreal True Match in the warmer months.

  7. I just started using the CoverGirl foundation and, so far, I love it! I don't even need to use powder over it, which is great for me.

  12. Oh my gosh! Thank you for this! I suck at picking foundations. I just go in the store, pick a cheap one in undoubtedly the wrong color and go. It obviously is never that great of a result! I am about to run out so I was wondering what to get next. I think I am going to go for the Garnier!

  14. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kat Von D. I don't use this one, but use her foundation powder. I used Bare Minerals for years and just switched to her line a little over a month ago....best decision I ever made cosmetics wise...it is magical!!
