Wedding Wednesday: The Dress

Growing up, I was one of those little girls who always dreamt about getting married. I would envision my future groom, the number of bridesmaids I would have, and of course what my dress would look like. And as my planning would have it, the split second I saw my dress hanging on the rack at Lulu's Boutique, I just knew! I KNEW it was the one. It was a special feeling.
Just moments after momma purchased the dress for me. The sales associate blew bubbles in celebration!

The thing is: Everyone has a different vision in their mind. My vision just happened to be that I would be married in a beautiful plain, white, simple dress. And that it was. Plus, I knew I wanted to wear some big ole fancy earrings and I didn't want the dress and earrings to both fight for attention.
My dress made me feel more beautiful than I've ever felt in my life! I also knew it would look more on the traditional side in photos for years to come. And that was really important to me!

Now that you know what I was looking for in a wedding dress, what made you pick your style of wedding dress? And if you're not married yet, what are you looking for in a future dress? It's okay to plan for your futuristic wedding! In fact, I think you should definitely do that.

Today I'm linking up with Jordon and Meredith

  1. Your dress is absolutely stunning!! I completely agree with you on the simple, yet beautiful dress. That is exactly what I was going for in my dress as well.

  2. I went shopping for my dress in October, I always wanted a big hoop skirt with lace sleeves. I ended up buying something 100% different. I worried when I bought it, but when it came in last week and I picked it up and tried it on Monday, I knew.. It was my dress. I felt beautiful (even a little tear in my eyes as I type) I can't wait to wear it in May!!

You are a beautiful bride btw!!

  3. You are GORGEOUS!! I love your dress. :) I think it fits you perfectly. My BFF got her dress from Lulu's and I bawled like a baby when she put it on. It was a Maggie Sottero! Everyone tells me I look like a lace bride and I tend to agree. As simple as possible while still being elegant is probably the direction I'll go. :)

  5. Your dress was gorgeous!!! Loved the earrings and your hair too! I think I totally want to go for a simple dress. I want it to be comfortable and I like the drop waist dresses too. Classic, simple, and elegant.

  6. LOVED your dress....it's gorgeous!!
Before I picked my dress, I for sure thought that I was going to pick a Grecian goddess/flowy type dress. When I tried a few on, I thought that I was wearing a nightgown!! It just wasn't happening. My actual wedding dress was the first dress that I tried on, and I cried like a baby. I knew it was the one!

  9. Gorgeous, stunning, perfect! :) I love your choice and love the bubbles they blew in celebration of you purchasing it too! hehe! When I went shopping I honestly had no clue what I wanted...other than I didn't want anything too big or heavy. So I tried on a little bit of everything, but the dress I picked ended up being very simple, classic, lace etc and like you, I think I'll love looking back at it for years to come!

  11. Yours is very pretty! I knew I wanted a lacy but not tacky dress. I also thought I wanted something with straps or some kind of cap sleeve. I did end up with a lacy dress, but it was strapless! It was the 2nd dress I tried on and I was in love with it from the moment I saw it. I

  12. "My dress made me feel more beautiful than I've ever felt in my life!" - that would be the goal! :) I picked my dress because I felt really awkward about being in something so incredibly nice and special and add a day all about me and so I picked something that was understated but STUNNING. :) Still love my dress to this day!
