Holy Crap, I Look Fabulous

Alas, my 27th birthday is quickly approaching - specifically a month from today. Good ole March 13. Thoughts are racing through my brain:

Ahh my eggs are dying!
Am I too old to party like it's 1999?
Does this mean I'm officially an adult?
Where have the past 27 years gone?
I thought I'd have my life more together by this age!
These thoughts are quickly replaced by, "Just breathe, Allison. You're still young (according to other people)." So, I'll take everyone's advice and just realize that 27 can't be all that bad. In fact, I have high hopes.

Of course, I plan to check a few more things off my 30 Before 30 list - le duh. In addition, I am hoping to acquire more stuff. (Have I mentioned before that my hubby thinks I'm a hoarder? I beg to differ.) Some things that will aid in the transition from 26 years old to 27 years old are all listed on my silly ole wishlist. Yea, I have a wishlist page on my blog. Tacky or not, I am keeping it. Check it out and buy me something, but that's neither here nor there. (Y'all... I'm joking.)

But on a serious note, I can't ever hear "you're young!" too much. Has anyone else ever felt this way? Or do you proudly own getting older? Give me your feedback!

  1. I freaked out every year around my birthday since turning 25. Now I am 30....so yeah.....27 is young! Own it!

  2. I had the same freak out two months ago when I turned 25! I think it's something we struggle with as women. Birthdays have never been special to me because I'm always worried about something.

  6. You are so young! ;) I am in my 30's and I worry about my eggs drying up, so you still have time!

  7. I turned 27 last month and told my husband that I "officially" feel like I'm pushing 30... So weird! My mom's birthday is March 13, yay for Pisces! It's a great birthday :)

  8. 27 was one of my best years! Age is a mindset! I will be 30 (gulp) in October but seriously don't feel it (except for the gray hairs that seem to be multiplying by the day...). It also helps my bf is 2 years older than me so I always know at the end of the day, I am the younger one haha I read once that women look their best between 27 and 28. Not sure what that is saying about my 29 year old self...haha

  9. I'm actually excited about my birthday coming up. I am turning 25, and I am hoping that people will stop thinking of me as a child! I look way younger than I am, so getting older is exciting for me :) (By the way, our birthday's are really close together - March 11th!)

  10. Every year older I get, it just SOUNDS scarier to me. I don't feel old at all, or anything like that... but when I actually say the # (i'll be 27 in april!) I'm seriously like WHERE did 21-26 go!??!

  11. Age is just a number! It only matters how you look and feel! I feel better at 30 than I did when I was in my early 20s. Embrace it :-)

  12. I hate hearing, "You're so young!" Mostly because I look young and am constantly getting mistaken for several years younger than my actual age, so I've developed a little complex over it. I'll be 27 later this year and I do agree with you that there are several things that, 10 years ago, I would have thought I'd have done by now! But I find that the older I get, the more fine I am with getting older and the things I haven't quite made it to yet.

  13. I am only 22 years old, and everyone calls me a "baby" all the time. It's hard enough working at a Financial Firm (I'm the youngest by a LOT!)!! Haha, but I wear the title proudly. 27 is not old at all....SO so young. I think its just scary to think about each year passing by so quickly...seriously! Where does time go1?

  14. I totally keep a wishlist, too! Not on the blog but that's only because I don't know how to get it all those fancy buttons on the top of the page haha
