DIY: Facial Spray With Aloe

First things first. Tomorrow ... well ...
It's Gonna Be May.
Next on the agenda: making your skin healthier, one spritz at a time. Yesterday at work, I was meeting with a student who happened to also be an esthetician. We got to chatting; I asked about her thoughts on the Clarisonic. Then, we somehow started talking about the perks which Aloe Vera Leaf Juice has to offer. She said that it's great for oily skin and for people with rosacea. While I have never been diagnosed with rosacea, my skin does flare up sometimes.

She explained that using equal parts water and Aloe Vera Leaf Juice is a great at-home spray. Just keep it in your 'fridge and mist away anytime you feel the need. You can do this to just freshen up your face, to set your makeup, or when you are hot & sweaty from movement. You can also simply use the Aloe Vera Leaf Juice as a toner on a cotton round.

After we spoke about this, my mind immediately jumped to the Facial Spray With Aloe, Herb and Rosewater by Mario Badescu.
The description on Ulta's website notes similar perks as the Aloe Vera Leaf Juice.  Although the Mario Badescu spray is very affordable in my opinion, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice is even cheaper and will last much longer.

I drove my happy butt over to H-E-B on my lunch break and picked up this jug for less than $5! After mixing it with equal parts water and spritzing over my face, I am pleased as punch, to say the least. Not only do I feel very savvy (and slightly sassy for no good reason), but I also feel as though I'm treating my face like royalty.

Also, this morning I used the juice by itself as a toner and it really woke me up. Since you're supposed to keep the juice in your 'fridge, it stays nice and chilly. It's a better morning start than coffee is!

Meal Planning

Here lately, hubby and I have been super duper good about grocery shopping and dining in. Plus, we save a lot of money by not eating out all the time. Although we tend to eat the same things every week when we cook, our taste buds don't mind.
We've got our grocery shopping down to a science, and Sundays after church officially consist of gathering food for the week. Yep, we shop weekly. That way the food stays fresh, plus Sunday after church we usually have nothing better to do than be productive. I'd say it's a win-win situation.

For my convenience, and to share with my best blogger friends (all y'all!), I have created a printable grocery list.
This helps us to stay on track whenever we're at H-E-B. I am not totally sure what it is about the grocery store, but I love looking at anything and everything there! Plus, I consider myself a Gluten Minimalist (a term that I coined to describe my limited gluten intake) and apparently the month of May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month!

My point is: go hug a Celiac and download this printable grocery list.

I Can Speak Spanish

Let's be honest... I've been a horrible blogger lately. But that's all about to change because of point number one:

UNO.
I have been so busy that I didn't even have a chance to proof-read this blog post. But a huge thank you to baby Jesus for allowing the spring semester to (almost) be finished - this week to be exact. I cannot tell y'all how exhausted I've been this semester... but it'll all pay off in the end. Summer school starts soon, and then I'll be doing my internship in the fall, and then I'll be dunzo! Holler.
DOS.
So, we're not going to be getting on Clomid after all. We decided to wait. I was having doubts about whether or not it was the right time. Some other stuff happened in life that basically told me to wait. For example: the wrong fertility doctor submitted the wrong prescription to my pharmacy. How does that even happen? The pharmacy said I'd have to follow up with my doctor, and since I have to take the pills on very specific days of my cycle, I decided that it's just not the right time. After all, God calls the shots - not me.

TRES.
I have been watching so much Snapped and House of Cards lately and I've been loving every second of it.
I miss you, Zoe Barnes.

CUATRO.
I got really excited at church yesterday when our pastor was telling a story about Heaven. We're currently in a series called "Back from the Dead." It's basically all about Jesus' rising (that was the message last week for Easter!) and this week it has been all about Heaven.

CINCO.
Speaking of cinco, can you even believe for a split second that May is almost here???!!! (Hello, Cinco De Mayo.) I think I need to start Christmas shopping already. WHAT THE HAIL is going on??? Time needs to slow it's roll! Surriously.

SEIS.
I'm more than just a tiny bit excited for Thursday to be here so that I can meet Bretty!

Last, but certainly not least, let's all enjoy a little Breaking Bad humor on this Monday, shall we? Thanks, Pinterest, for making my life much better today. I'm totally gonna do this next time I go to Starbucks. R.I.P. Walt White.

Wedding Wednesday: Outtakes

Source
On our wedding day, I may (or may not) have danced a little like Leo did in Wolf of Wall Street.  Pure excitement, I tell ya. Not only did I love our wedding day because I became a Mrs., but also because a lot of fun stuff happened. Like...

That moment at the rehearsal dinner that I felt like a total Bad A with my beer & shades.
Also, look at my baby cousin with a sad face. Poor thang.
When my hubby and I had a very candid shot of our personalities.
Dress Probz.
The time my Mr. so kindly held my heels.
I taught him well.
When we used our strong hands to stay connected.
That darn wedding party - trying to pull us apart.
The moment when I almost fell flat on my booty.
Thankfully they didn't drop me.
When I thought to myself, "In front of my parents?!"
Husband found it necessary to go all-in.
When we had a quick make out sesh before parting ways on our wedding-eve.
We're clearly PDA-ers.
The time that I had a fan blow air up my dress.
Mildly inappropriate, but it was necessary!
When Obama showed up on our Wedding Day.
That's actually not the reason I took the pic, but hey, he still showed up.
I am linking up with Jordon & Meredith!

No Big Deal

I SO wish that there was a way to relive yesterday's church service.  It was that good.  At the end of the service, I was telling my hubby that it wasn't a coincidence that the message spoke right to us - in more ways than one.  Plus, the music was even more phenomenal than it typically is.  If I find a video of it online somewhere, I will be sure to share!  Anyways, I just cannot say enough good things about our church.  Each Sunday morning, I wake up excited to go to church.  Weird or cool?  I vote cool.

Oh, how cute are hubbs and I?
That's my baby bear honeybee.  Just the greatest man ever.  At the greatest restaurant ever.  True story.  It's a lil ole place in the very town that we said "I do".  Our tummies were very full upon leaving.  In fact, I even look a little preggo in this picture, but I can assure you that there is [unfortunately] not a tiny human growing inside my belly.  I was simply full.

In other news, guess what is happening next week?

OH NO BIG DEAL, just meeting Brett Eldredge.  It's actually impossible for me to be any more excited.  We've already seen him once in concert, so obvi he's awesome, but we're actually getting to meet him!
So there's that.  It should be the best meet & greet ever, followed by an amazefest concert (with Billy Currington too!), and then an amazefest 3 day weekend.  Let's hope this week hurrys on by so that we can make this happen.

What The... ?

I can't believe that...

There is such a thing as a marijuana vending machine.
Just when I thought I had heard it all, this oddball story comes out.  I find it odd mainly because federal law still trumps state law, thus putting people traveling to Colorado [and then leaving] in a tricky situation if they buy weed from a machine.  Granted it's for "medical purposes" only, but I'm pretty confident there will be ways around it.
This guy was on Wheel of Fourtune.
I will say this: I was thoroughly entertained by this Wheel of Fortune episode. Bless his sweet soul.
Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel had a baby.
I dunno about you, but I have recently become obsessed with the show Southern Charm. Also, I [awkwardly] really like Kathryn & Thomas together... so I think the baby is great. The news of her wouldn't have been such a big deal if: 1) they didn't already have a pregnancy scare on TV, and 2) if their age difference was not as dramatic. But hey, you love who you love.
Texas weather is all over the place.
It's just so dang annoying. All I wanna do is wear cute summer dresses, yet another cold spell came through this week. Don't tell the fashion police, but I wore a green summer dress to work yesterday, and I totes plan on wearing something summery today too. Screw you, cold front!
True Blood will be over for good this summer.
It's a sad day when I can no longer see Eric Northman half nakey on the telly with those vampy teeth. However, I am pretty sure this upcoming season is gonna be incredible. It better be at least.

White Girl Wasted

Currently I am...

Looking forward to my two & half day weekend! Bring on Good Friday and all the fun that comes with it. Plus, my in-laws are coming into town. They have yet to meet Layla, so we are excited to show her off. Our babies are our pride & joy.

Wishing that I made an infinity amount of money so I could constantly shop at Old Navy. They literally have the cutest clothes in all the world. I bought a few outfits 2 weeks ago (here) and got a few more this weekend. They should arrive soon!

Drinking the tastiest Strawberry Lemonade ever. I don't know if y'all realize this, but I love strawberries just as much as I love my puppies. And that says a lot. So to mix strawberry flavor + lemonade... I'm in heaven!

Wanting this beautiful tank that Mrs. Bracco sent me a picture of. I'm dying over here. I need that in a size Medium STAT!
Smelling Tiff's Treats. My co-worker had warm cookies delivered to work and I've eaten 2 too many. They are so good though!

Thinking about how nice it would be to take a summer vacation. I envision myself on a beach with a drink in hand, getting my sunburn tan on.

Embarrassed to admit that I have YET to complete my 30 day devotional that I started back on February 1st. Gosh, I am terrible human being! I plan to finish it STAT! Plus, I wanted to write a review about it. I was doing really good with the devotional until I went to a work conference in St. Louis. Ever since then, I have not spent time reading it.

Obsessing over my sweet little baby niece Harper Lynn! Okay, she's not legally my niece, but she might as well be. She owns my heart. And those cheeks? I DIE!

I'm Cheesy

Ross and I go to church every Sunday (true story) but yesterday was a watch-the-service-live-in-bed day. That is one major perk of attending a church that streams their services live online. I can just as easily praise Jesus in my PJ's sitting in bed. I suppose my weekend wore me out and that's why we stayed in bed so long yesterday.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would've been quite annoyed with how much I've been uploading lately.

Hubby and I went back to our college town this weekend. It made us smile really big. SO much has changed, yet it's exactly how we it was when we left. I just light up when I get to tell people about my Alma Mater. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm the worlds cheesiest person alive and not only had the greatest college experience ever, but I found love too (hello, hubby of mine!).
I won't bore you with the details, but I met my hubby at 19 years old, we spent 6 years in Huntsville, TX (aka Prison Town) together, and now? Just look at us - 1.5 dogs later (Layla is really tiny, so I only consider her half a dog).

I also found out that I am going to be an aunt to a precious little girl. I couldn't be more excited. Tiffany (the preggo) had her gender reveal party this weekend, so me and our other bestie (Brittany) joined in on the fun.
Don't get me wrong - little boys are just precious as could be. But little girls are way more fun to shop for! For like half a second, can I just say how much I love my besties? The thing is... the have my back 100% of the time, and I never worry about their loyalty. They make my heart pitter patter. And now a little mini Tiffany will be joining our trio.

One last cheesy thing; I swear.
They grow up so quick, don't they? Yes. That's me. 5 years later. Just presh. Oh and in December I'll be graduating again from SHSU (holler masters degree). Stop taking all my monies, Sam!

Have a cheesy day.

Sassy Pants

Not sure what was so special about yesterday, but I put my sassy pants on. I was rockin' them all.day.long. I love those days. It seems like I'm always learning something new about my sassy self - even at 27 years [young]. A few of my newest personality discoveries include being...

Easily persuadable.
I am embarrassed to admit that I tend to have the sure-that-sounds-good mentality. The boy scouts must know this about me too. A couple months ago, they came to the front door and said, "would you like to buy something from this catalog to support Boy Scouts of American?" And I'm like, "ah crap, gimme the catalog." I proceeded to purchase two of everything sweet and delicious. Well played, little boy scout.

Easily entertained.
Over the past couple of years, I have noticed that I am virtually never bored. I can always think of something to keep me entertained, even if it means taking a nap or just relaxing.
A tiny bit scatterbrained.
Sometimes I think I have ADD. For instance, when I'm cleaning the house, I will jump all around. From starting to do the dishes to vacuuming, and then brushing my teeth. The thing is: I don't actually complete one single task; my mind is always from here to there.
What have you learned about yourself recently?

Blogging Tips

Remember that time I asked y'all to share some important Blogging Advice with me? There were tons of great comments about the purpose of blogging (ex: "blog for yourself) and also good advice about how to blog (ex: "don't be a no-reply blogger"). I thought I'd expand a little more on the latter - blogging tips, if you will. There's only three, but they are important!

ONE. The "No Reply Blogger." We've all heard of it but sometimes newbie bloggers (like we all once were!) need a little more explanation. In Layman's terms, being a no-reply blogger means that when you comment on my blog, there is no e-mail attached to the comment, therefore I cannot reply. The email address to reply back actually says: noreply-comment@blogger.com. Anyways, it's an easy fix and you can google different tutorials. Jenny @ Story Of My Life wrote a great post about it here. Check it out! Here's an example:
TWO. Word Verification. I get it - this feature is supposed to protect against spam. But it's also really annoying for us people who leave comments on your blog. According to blogger, word verification "will require people leaving comments on your blog to complete a word verification step, which will help reduce comment spam. Blog authors will not see word verification for comments." I recommend taking it off. I Googled "word verification blogger" and saw a ton of blogs laying out various tutorials.

THREE. Google Friend Connect. If you're like me and stuck in your old ways, GFC is your friend. But sometimes it doesn't work exactly like it should. If there's ever a time that you're wanting to add someone via GFC and it doesn't work, try doing THIS.

If everyone did these things, the blog'o'sphere would be that much better. Can I get an amen??? Happy dance.

My Life In Numbers

It's true that I am easily inspired by other people's blog posts. That would explain why I am copying Erin today. Is it just me or do others look at certain numbers and think, "oOoO.... that reminds me of [fill in the blank.]" Here are a few numbers that represent a little piece of yours truly. Exhibit A: 7 is the time of day (PM) that I love to be in my stretchy pants, sitting on the couch watching garbage TV. I don't actually think it's garbage TV - my hubby does. But that's neither here nor there.
327.5
My husband's bond number for his fraternity (Phi Delta Theta) is 327, and I consider myself the .5 to his bond number. It's only right for two reasons: First, I'm his wife. Duh. Second, I'm a Phi Delt sweetheart, which makes me an honorary member.

13
My lucky number.

1
The number of wisdom teeth that I was born with, however I will never need this removed according to my dentist. It's in a very awkward place and dentists only found it about 2 years ago. Up until then, I had no clue wisdom teeth even existed inside my mouth.

3
The number of kids that I want. But let's be honest, I'll take as many as God blesses me with.

2.5
The number of years my hubby and I have been a Mr. and Mrs.

2008
The year that I became a sister in the bond - Alpha Chi Omega.

8
The number of months left until I graduate with my M.A. in Higher Education.
11:11
The time that I always make a wish (if I look at the clock!)

4
The minimum number of times per day that I sing random songs to my girls (Layla and Zoey). I make the songs up spur-of-the-moment.

0
How many times I changed my major in college.

5
The number of various lip products that I carry around with me day-to-day. The majority are chap sticks, but I also carry lip glosses or lip sticks. #ChappedLipProbz

27
My age. Le duh.

2
The number of alcoholic drinks I could go for right about now.
