What I've Been Up To + Announcement

Y'all... although school is out for the spring semester, I still seem to be so busy. But it's been great! Ross and I joined a Small Group through our church. Amazing, lemme tell you. I've actually been feeling like Sunday isn't enough to "last me" throughout the week. I need a little more than that. The devil never seems to take a break, so I feel like I need to be in The Word more often!

We're starting to do SOAP in the small group. Here's a little breakdown:
S - Scripture; read specific scriptures that week and pick a verse that stands out.
O - Observation; what are the verses saying?
A - Application; how does this apply to your life?
P - Prayer; what is a prayer that you have regarding this verse?

Each week, we will all be sharing our SOAP with the other group members. I think it's awesome, personally!

I am extra excited about the small group, too, because we go to a really big church and it's easy to feel small and insignificant. That being said though, I wouldn't change our church for anything. I love it there. I've never felt more at home than I do at our church. The small group fellowship allows us to connect to other church members and also draws us that much closer to God. The best part? Prayer! Not only can I pray for members of the small group, but they can pray for me. Prayer is everything.

Speaking of... after a lot of thought and prayer, we're going to be doing IUI with Clomid in a couple of weeks. Yes, it's expensive. And yes, we're going to be hit hard financially. But it's the right thing to do. Originally, we were planning on IVF; in fact, we are already qualified for a loan... but my husband prefers to try IUI first. And heck, who knows - maybe IUI will work the first round.

This is an exciting thing. I am so ready to start this new and hope-filled journey! The treatment, paired with lots & lots of prayers, will surely work itself out!

  1. That is awesome Allison! My boyfriend and I just started going to a new church and we are also looking into joining a small group. I agree, 1 day is not enough!! I am keeping you and your hubby in my prayers, and hope everything works out! My brother and sister-in-law have been going through the same thing the last couple of years and have decided on the IVF path. I will be praying that the Lord blesses our families with 2 beautiful babies.

  12. Your husband sounds like mine. He wants to try IUI first however there is a trial going on at our clinic to where the cost for IVF would be $3500, super savings there! I am just continuing to pray about it.
