I'm Hungry

Welp, you probably saw on Halloween that baby Skinner (just one) is growing very nicely!!! My little babe is healthy and we already love him or her so much. My gut tells me that we're having a boy. But, I'm not sure if it's simply due to my husband - it's all he talks about. While I would be over-the-moon happy about a boy, I think a girl would be just as fun to have. Either way, I am prayerful for a continued healthy pregnancy.
My little nugget.
On another note, can we PLEASE talk about how many recipes on Pinterest that I've been pinning lately? I think I just died and went to Heaven.
I swear on my life that I am not meaning to be more hungry or anything, but all I can think about lately is food and my next meal. According to my doctor, I am not supposed to take in ANY extra calories for baby until my second trimester. So then why am I so hungry? Help a preggo out, please.

  3. I was hungry more often from the beginning, but I couldn't eat as much. They say 6 smaller meals and snacks are the way to go!

  6. GIRL! You are creating another human being....that takes fuel and energy! Eat what you want! Within in reason....your metabolism slows down the further along you are. After awhile no matter what you eat...the weight is still gonna creep up on you. I just started to put on weight and I'm almost finished.....with 8 weeks left. So with that being said....enjoy the small indulgences!

  13. During my first trimester I was starving and exhausted all the time. I - luckily - didn't gain any weight until I was 16 weeks but I think while satisfying the hunger in the first trimester you just have to make good choices on the snacks. I would eat, probably too much, at my three regular meal times and then "make up" for it during my snacks. I was told that I could eat as many vegetables as I wanted during the day. I ate carrots and broccoli like nobodies business! I hope it helps...can't let that little miracle in you go hungry!

  15. Ohhhh, be thankful you aren't sick! I was so nauseous in my first trimester that I lost weight. Those were some rough days. Here's what I'll say about eating and pregnancy: enjoy yourself with moderation! I know well how hungry you can get (when it's time to eat, it's time to EAT!) but as someone who has a five month old, let me tell ya: getting the baby weight off is no joke. When I do it over again, I will refrain from enjoying quite as many bowls of ice cream. Real talk, right there!
