Monday Thoughts + A Tiny Rant

For the first time in my life, I watched the entire Super Bowl game. But that doesn't mean I'm a sports fan. I still think sports are boring as heck to watch. But I was actually into the Superbowl this year. I learned a lot too. Like, whenever the clock stops, it means that either someone was out of bounds or that the ball hit the ground.
I am going to stop asking people for baby registry advice. I asked for advice via my blog and Facebook, but I have realized that it just stresses me out. I am appreciative for all advice that I get (seriously... I am!) but it seems that most people don't pay attention to certain things I say and it just annoys me. We're getting 90% of the major items from our close friends. When I wrote my blog post last week, that is why I only asked about 5 very specific items (because I already have the other things covered). Let's just say that I may have been silently yelling at some peeps in my head. Must be the preggo hormones :-) #RantOver #JustBeingHonest

I purchased this pretty little number on sale over the weekend and cannot wait until it arrives. Obviously, the larger my belly gets, the more I need maternity clothes. I am very slowly but surely building a small collection. I don't intend to buy a ton of things, but I do want a few good pieces to wear to showers/church/etc.
My husband came home from the store with 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and it pretty much ruined my life - but in the best way possible. It just so happens that Samoa cookies are my favie ever, but I am trying to be mindful of my weight gain during pregnancy. Otherwise, I can expect a lecture from my doctor. And ain't nobody got time for that.

This weekend, we got to meet one of my college girlfriend's baby. Raedyn was born back in November, but with graduate school and the holidays, we were too busy to drive up to Ft. Worth for a visit. I was so excited to finally meet her. I even got baby Kensington and baby Raedyn matching outfits. The best. Thank you Target for the cutest little rompers.
My favorite commercial from the Superbowl was this one by Fiat. It made me laugh out loud. The second best commercial was one that tugged at my heart. It was this one by McDonald's.

My mini me is getting so big. I sure do love knowing that Kensington is growing big and strong inside my womb. I also cannot get over how much I love a baby bump. I will be 22 weeks tomorrow, and I am still in awe of God's love for me.

  1. I loved your bump picture on Instagram! You look so natural with the baby bump :) And I'm with you on your rant, that is one of my MAJOR pet peeves of blogging. When someone comments on a post and clearly did not read the whole thing! Happy Monday!

  2. Oh, I did like the McDonald's commercial and the Best Buds always pulls my heart strings but other than that I was underwhelmed by the commercials and the half time show this year.

I hate when people just browse and then start soliciting advice without reading what I actually asked for. I can understand how frustrating this is!

  8. I am with you, Allison! Yesterday's game was possibly the ONLY game I have ever been so interested in. My hubby and I were going for two different teams and his won, but it was still fun feeling the suspense of it all. My only problem about it was so many serious super bowl commercials. I was like. "So...when am I going to get to laugh?" I loved the skittles one with the arm wrestling, the doritos one and the dove one with the kids all saying "Daddy." though.

  9. I did some girl scout cookie therapy this weekend too. I left some thoughts on the carseat and high chair. I am with you on advice. People have tons of it. Its all trial and error I think, but its hard when you just do not know. Praying for you.
