Pregnancy: Week 26

How far along: 26 weeks! I have loved every second of this pregnancy!!!!!

Baby Size: About 2 pounds.

Gender: A cute, little, lovable baby GIRL!

Movement: My wiggle worm is doing what she does best: kick and jab momma. It never gets old!

Best moment this week: Can we talk about the fact that my baby girl can officially open her eyes inside my womb. Not that there's anything exciting to look at... but I find it to be utterly amazing. God has blessed her with two eyes (according to our ultrasound scans) and I am praying that her vision is 20/20!

Looking forward to: Next week :) I officially have doctor appointments every 2 weeks now-a-days, and I love hearing her heartbeat. On my birthday (March 13th) I also have a doctor appointment - so it will be the best birthday present ever hearing her heart thumping loud and clear. She is consistently around 155 bpm.

What I miss: I miss having a wide variety of clothing to wear to work. I am pretty limited in my wardrobe (since I'd rather spend money on Kensie over myself), so that means I am a repeat offended to work often! But I could care less. I still get compliments on my baby girl growing inside my belly. I feel beautiful!

Symptoms: Doc said that I may start experiencing contractions (braxton hicks) but I havent felt anything like that yet. How will I know if I'm feeling a braxton hicks? Can someone explain the feeling to me?

Nursery: Y'all. Prepare yourself. Her nursery will be done in no time at all. I am so proud of how it's turning out. I will probably still wait until April to post pictures, but we will see :-) I just ordered her window treatment so I am hoping it matches. The only other thing I'm really waiting on is a lamp that I've been eyeing, and her changing table topper + the pad.

Wedding rings on or off? Still on, but lawd have mercy on my fingers because I could barely take my rings off on Saturday morning before I got into the shower. I find that my fingers are most swollen in the morning time (which is kinda odd, no?!)

Daddy-isms: Every time Ross and I are at home and Kensington is flipping around, I call Ross in the room to feel/watch her. But he has been joking around that she must sense his presence, because she usually stops once he touches my tummy or is watching. It makes me laugh. Baby girl is showing off just for meeeeee.

Prayer: God, you have truly made a miracle with Kensington. It's amazing that you created two eyes for her to see the world out of. I pray that she has perfect vision and that she will always use her eyes to look for ways that she can serve you! I also pray that she continues to kick and punch me throughout my day, because it reminds me how much You love me! I feel completely indebted to you, Jesus, for giving me Kensington Grace! Your love is overwhelming.

  2. I just know her nursery is going to be so cute! You will never want to spend money on yourself once she is born either. Jack is 2 and my outfits are limited because my baby gotta have cute clothes. Every week Kensie is growing more and more and it is so exciting. God is so good!

  9. Aww! I love bump pictures! Braxton hicks feel like period cramps or at least mine did. They come really quick and then go....sometimes they linger. I had a few every now and again towards the end of my pregnancy

  10. Braxton hicks are different for everyone. For me, my stomach would tighten up, then relax. It literally would feel rock hard. Didn't feel like period cramps. They mostly came at night and weren't until probably 32 weeks. They didn't hurt :)

  13. I wondered the same thing about Braxton Hicks. I had what felt like period cramps. They would come and go throughout the day but never consistent to be timed like contractions. The beginning of my actual contractions just felt like terrible cramps.
