Pregnancy: Week 27

Dress: PinkBlush Maternity
How far along: 27 happy weeks.

Baby Size: 15 inches from head to toe & about 2.2 pounds :)

Gender: A mini me - a girl!

Movement: Little bear is actually pretty consistent. She moves around after each meal, but she is most active and likes to have a dance party around 7pm. It's so fun to just stare at my tummy while relaxing in the evening time. She generally kicks or punches me on the sides of my tummy. Kensington also kicks me anytime I change positions in the middle of the night. I guess I was interrupting her precious sleep inside the womb.

Best moment this week: It's been amazing to know that I'm so close to my third trimester. Some believe that the third trimester begins at 27 weeks, but I am going to wait to celebrate until next week (28 weeks preggo). I am very much looking forward to the homestretch. Can you believe how quickly June 9th is approaching? If she comes on or before her due date, she will be in my arms in less than 3 months! I am still praying for a full-term pregnancy though.

Looking forward to: Celebrating my 28th birthday with mini me this Friday. This will be such a treasured birthday just knowing that my baby girl is inside of me. What a special gift from God!

What I miss: Being able to breathe easily (haha). My honeybee is apparently sitting up really high inside my womb and putting more and more pressure on my internal organs. I now sleep at an incline, which isn't the most comfortable, just so I can breathe a little easier. Oh the sweet little sacrifices we make for our babies. (p.s. I would do it every day for her if I had to!)

Symptoms: I haven't ever felt back pain like I've been feeling it lately. I think that it's due to bad positioning in bed when trying to sleep and taking on too many chores at home. I have realized that I need to pace myself and take breaks often. Otherwise, my back pays the price!

Nursery: Welp, it's almost completely finished. Just a few other touches to add. I need to hang up her curtains, get a few odds and ends things, and it'll be Kensington-ready!

Wedding rings on or off? Still on, but definitely getting tighter.

Daddy-isms: Daddy has been super helpful around the house by setting up her Pack N Play and helping with the assembly of nursery furniture. I hope Kensington is grateful to have such a handy daddy.

Prayer: God, thank you for Kensington's continued growth and development. I am so grateful that she's getting so big. Each week is a huge milestone, and you are to thank for that. As I end my second trimester this week, I pray that the remainder of my pregnancy continues to thrive. I pray for my daughter's development so that whenever she enters the world, she will be fully equipped to survive and be healthy.

  5. So close to your third trimester!!! How exciting! Reading your weekly updates really makes me happy because I see how happy, excited and thankful you are. Some people do nothing but complain in theirs....and it's almost like they are ungrateful for the miracle that is life! It is refreshing to read how positive you remain even if you experience discomfort. You know you are making sacrifices for your baby and you can tell that you are going to be an amazing mom :)

  7. Hate to break it to you, but the 3rd trimester is kicking my butt. Lol. Increased discomfort, worse heartburn and little to no sleep. But, in the end totally worth it. You still look great!
