Thoughts For Thursday

I am linking up for Thoughts for Thursday!

+ Quite literally, I just squeal every time I find cute mommy-and-me things. I about died whenever I saw these beauties for less than $12 a piece. Yes please. Can't wait for them to arrive so Kensie and I can eventually match.
+ I'm so serious when I say that Chewy.com is where it's at. My girls love their new Salmon flavored treats that we received. We always try to give them grain-free products because of their sensitive skin, so these do the job and the girls seem to love them.
+ I'm the kind of preggo that doesn't break any rules (ex: no caffeine, no sips of alcohol, etc). That being said, I have totally been craving the taste of a margarita. However, I don't trust restaurants to make them (mainly out of fear that they may accidentally put alcohol in it). Anyways, I have been eyeing a few drink recipes that I saw on Pinterest (here, here, and here) and will definitely be trying these virgins soon!
+ House of Cards season three is intense! Hubby and I finished the season on Tuesday and now we're on pins and needles wondering what season four is going to be like. P.S. if you haven't jumped on the HOC bandwagon, you're totally missing out!
+ I have been thinking about Kesnie's upcoming arrival in 11 short weeks and I am starting to plan out what to pack in our hospital bags. I have seen tons of lists on Pinterest which I plan to use as a guideline, but I would like to ask the recent/new mommies out there: what was ONE THING (please don't list out a million things, haha) that you were super glad you packed?
+ I am obsessing over my Maybooks, which just arrived yesterday. I can't wait to fill them up!
+ Hubby and I are going to be doing a one-night Babymoon getaway here soon. We're gonna stay within Texas to save some money, but I am still excited. If you live in Texas, do you have any suggestions? It can be Houston, Dallas, or Austin. I have a couple of places in mind, but wanted to get y'alls feedback.

  3. I couldn't live without comfy jammies that buttoned in the front! I know you said only one thing, but I also couldn't live without comfy undies and slippers :) I was all about the comfort, especially after 44 hours of labor and a c-section!

  4. best thing i packed - my own pillow! Put it in colorful pillowcase so it doesn't get mixed up with the hospital pillows.

  5. I didn't pack this so my mom had to run out and buy me a few nursing bras. I'm also thankful that I packed my own undies. I went out bought some cheap ones that were bigger. You are going to be bleeding like crazy so you want to feel comfortable throwing them away. You will want them bigger to make room for those big ole pads they put on you. Also bring a top that will go on over an IV and you feel comfortable wearing out in the hallway.

  6. Seems like my Mom has made vegan Margarita cupcakes and they were really good if I remember. I think they are from a vegan cupcakes cookbook. That might be just what satisfies your craving!!

  7. Your Maybooks are too cute, I'm obsessed with mine too! I'll be curious to hear about your Texas mini vaca. We just live in Oklahoma and were just talking about how we need to take a few mini weekend getaways, including Texas :)

  9. Oh House of Cards, how I love you! My husband and I accidentally watched the last episode without knowing it was the last and we were crashed. I'm with you about not breaking any rules during pregnancy, it's not worth it to me, but red wine has smelled so good and I've definitely sniffed a couple glasses.

  10. What about La Cantera in San Antonio? I've never stayed there but would love too!! Or maybe the Houstonian Hotel & Spa, you could get a massage!! I've never stayed there either but would like to. Of course both of these aren't exactly cheap but sometimes it's worth it! YUMMY on the margarita!! I would worry about the same thing too at a restaurant.

  11. Make yourself a fun mocktail girlfriend- you deserve that ;) I love May Books too... I use them now as journals and definitely want to use them as a place to write letters to my kids once that time comes!

  12. I think a margarita (non-alc of course) is something you NEED!! Sounds like you've done everything right this pregnancy and you deserve it ;) I love those tee shirts!! Isn't journaling the best? I think the second we get pregnant i start writing letters and stuff to document all my thoughts/emotions!!!

  14. Go to the Hill Country!! Or come to my neck of texas... The Woodlands!! Great shopping and food!! Lots of new hotels popping up everywhere too.

  15. Travel size shampoo/conditioner/soap. I took my full size bottles and having to bend over and pick them up was such a hassle. That first shower is awkward and exhausting enough without having to bend over so much!

And I'll "fourth" the having your own pillow. It's so comforting to have it!

You can enjoy a margarita in the near future once your sweet girl arrives (but seriously, I don't know how your doing without them!) and I so vote Dallas! I love stay cations.. the best!!

  19. I'm a new follower (love link-ups) and playing catch up here on your blog - first of all, congratulations!! So soon you will get to meet your new little babe, amazing! For the baby bag: a nice camera and some big roomy undies. That's all I'll say about that sister! Texas babymoon, honestly if it was me, I'd just want to go to a nice hotel with a big comfy bed, and get a massage! Enjoy your weekend! -Lauren @www.southpearlliving.blogspot.com
