As If

You'll have to forgive me for being so MIA lately and only posting about baby stuff. Clearly you can tell where my brain is. Now that I'm officially less than 3 weeks away from my due date, Kensington is consuming every thought. I focus on every kick and every little thing that my body does and wonder, "when are you coming little girl?" Anyways, I decided to put together a random list of question about yours truly to switch up the topics a little more. Instead of talking about all things baby, let's talk about this mama!
---------------------------------------------------------
Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many and what are they?
No, none at all. However, I have been considering getting one after Kensie is born. I got the idea from my coworker about getting a snipit of Kensie's heartbeat tattooed somewhere on my body. It would be a small, dainty tattoo. We'll see if I actually go through with it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Five years from now I will be 33 years old. Hopefully I will have a plethora of kiddos (but in reality we'll probably only have 2-3 kids if we have any say; ultimately God is in control!). I am also hoping that I will be movin' on up on the career ladder. I have been in my current position for 3.5 years, and now that I have my master's degree in the same area that I work, I want to keep on climbing to get more experience. For those who don't know, I work in higher education (a university). I will also be teaching a class this fall semester, which I am pretty gosh darn excited about.
What is your favorite cereal?
All of the unhealthiest kinds. I like Lucky Charms and Capt'n Crunch a LOT. But my most eaten cereal is definitely Cheerio's. If I could live on cereal, I totally would. It's a total comfort food for me.

What would you do today if you knew you could not fail?
I have always loved web design (in fact I've always designed my own blog layouts), so I think it would be neat to start designing other people's blogs as a business. However, I don't have the time for that at this point in my life. Maybe one of these days!

If you had to live in a decade other than the current one, which would you choose?
Assuming I could keep the same people in my life, and assuming I'd be the same age as I am right now, I think it would be neat to live in the 90's. The 1990's had the best music by far, awesome movies (my favie is Clueless), plus not to mention there were Pancho's all over the place. Does anyone know what Pancho's is? It's a mexican buffet that we used to go to a lot when we were little. That place was legit.
Favorite social media platform?
Used to be Facebook, but now I am addicted to Instagram. I am such a visual person and I'd rather see pictures than read someone's status update.

If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you’d buy?
Probably the rest of the things from our baby registry. I know that sounds silly, but I just love getting all of the best things for Kensie. We have been so blessed to have hand-me-downs from our close friends, but it would be neat to buy all brand new stuff for her. But then I would go on a shopping spree for me. Yes, that would be fun.

What are five products that you wear/use daily?

What is one great advice you have?
Someone told me this while we were 2 years deep into trying to conceive: God will either fulfill the desires of your heart or he will take the desires out of your heart. I love that advice so dang much because I think it's absolutely true. God doesn't put desires in your heart to simply leave you hanging or taunt you; he put them there with purpose.

Favorite song at the moment?
I have three favorites at the moment: "Don't it" by Billy Currington, "Sangria" by Blake Shelton, and "Take Your Time" by Sam Hunt. Listen and enjoy.

  7. I have a friend who has the heartbeat tattoo of her daughter on her arm. Her daughter was close to death for many weeks after birth and she is now a 10 month old healthy baby girl! :)

  8. Amen to that saying about the desires of your heart. I am a firm believer in that. And I love Panchos! There's one on the north side of Houston, those sopapillas and honey and the flags? That table service couldn't be beat at a Mexican buffet.

If you decide to go into blog design for others, I'll be one of your first customers! :) I remember raising the little flag at Pancho's. Hope you're having a great week, friend!

  13. You gave me that same advice several months ago when we were struggling to conceive. I used to recite that phrase every day knowing that God would provide us with a baby when His timing was right. I still love that saying, and I have it written in several places that I see everyday. I've also passed that advice onto other women I know who are struggling in one area or another.

  14. We are soul sisters when it comes to cereal - I could easily live off of it, especially the bad stuff! Give me ALL of the Reese's puffs!
