... But Seriously, Parenthood.

Kensie Grace is almost 6 weeks old which blows my mind. I am so thankful to be her mama. There is nothing better. This parenting thing is so much fun. But seriously, wouldn't it great if children came with instructions? Luckily, I've picked up a thing or two since her birth day. Anyways, here are a few tid-bits that I've been feeling lately...
... but seriously, I miss sleep.

... but seriously, if you have a problem with how much I post about Kensington on social media, then I suggest you unfollow me. :)

... but seriously, I'm getting stronger by the day. Hello, heavy carseat.

... but seriously, just because some women breastfeed or pump, doesn't make their babies any smarter or healthier than formula-fed bundles. (For the record, we're strictly doing formula due to a medication that I was taking, which removed all excess fluids from my body, thus making it difficult to create a healthy supply/production.)

... but seriously, holy hotness seeing my hubby care for our daughter. You know - the daughter that is a perfect little mixture of both him and I??? OMG. I still die thinking about it.

... but seriously, I'm not butt-hurt over it anymore, but it becomes very apparent who is important in your life and who is less important. It surprises me that some people who I've been close with in the past haven't asked, "when can I meet Kensington?"
... but seriously, my priorities have changed and I kinda am in love with this new life of mine. What did I do before Kensington?

... but seriously, I legitimately cried during my postpartum appointment since I won't see my doc for another year (or until we get pregnant again). But then again, I have the best doctor ever (read more here). When you're preggo, you see your OBGYN all the time and they help you through the pregnancy. Now that Kensie is here, I want to bring my doc home with me for his continued guidance.

... but seriously, let your mom stay with you the first week home with baby. She will help you a ton.

... but seriously, we go through 500 million diapers and wipes per day. Holy expensiveness.

... but seriously, how great would it be if we got pregnant naturally instead of through IVF again? A girl can pray. Otherwise, I will look forward to the day when our frozen babies are placed back where they belong - inside my belly.

... but seriously, this love is the best kind of love. Thank you Jesus for seeing me fit to be Kensie's mama.

  8. She's beautiful! Being a mom is the most amazing thing ever. But don't hold it against your friends for not clamoring to meet her. Friends without children may not understand how all-consuming the love for a new baby is. Friends with children may just be trying to give you your space, knowing how difficult and tiring the first few weeks are. Or sometimes they are just waiting to be invited to come meet her!

  15. I know how difficult and struggling it is to not be able to breastfeed your child especially in the "pro breastfeeding" world we live in. I was never able to just breastfeed Caleb and always had to supplement with formula and after 8 weeks it just became clear that it wasn't emotionally healthy for me to fight a losing battle with myself anymore. Caleb is just as smart as any other baby his age and cuter :) He has grown 10 inches since birth and gained over 14 pounds. Formula fed doesn't mean that your baby is any different then the ones who are breastfed, it is what is best for your child and you obviously have made the right decision. That mommy guilt, it will get you every time. I hope you know that you aren't alone though.

And how cute is Kensie?? GAH! My baby fever for a little girl just intensifies when I see her pictures of her in cute dresses and bows!

  18. Sweet baby girl!! This is bringing back all the memories of having a precious new bundle in the house... just in time for me to go through it again in a couple months! It's crazy to think back on how lost I felt at time, like I wasn't doing enough or getting it right with Mia, but now I know to trust myself more and that I AM doing exactly what she needs from me! I'm sure I'll go through all the feelings and emotions once again with baby brother!
You are an amazing mom and Kenssingtonthe luckiest to have you!
