My Clock Is Ridiculously Fast

Honestly, I'm just tired. Yes, that's my excuse for not blogging lately.

I beat myself up when I don't blog because I always have the greatest of intentions about getting back into it full-time, more or less. But the truth is, I selfishly feel like my clock runs way quicker than anyone else's. I simply don't have enough hours in the day. If I am blogging, that generally means that I'm giving up precious time that I could be or should be doing something else. Exhibit A: chores upon chores, quality time with hubby, HGTV, or sleep.

Instead of boring you with excuses, I am going to simply blog when I feel like it. No commitments from me, because I hate not keeping my word.

Today's blog post is completely unorganized. Here are some random things:
  • I've been listening to way too much Stuff Mom Never Told You podcasts lately.
  • My c-section scar has randomly been itching like crazy lately. I'm kinda hoping that maybe it's because my nerves that were damaged during delivery are starting to think about coming back to life. See: Yes, I've been numb between my scar & my belly button for the last 10 months. Insert o-face emoji.
  • We recently saw 10 Cloverfield Lane and it was definitely entertaining but very SciFi.
  • I am on pins and needles to move into our new house (not only because *duh* new house, but also because apartment living is the pits)! Oh, and if you were wondering, living out of boxes isn't cool either. I pretty much keep going to the store to buy things that I already know we own because I literally have no clue which box things are in. We have two storage units and a spare bedroom inside our apartment which are all full of boxes.
  • Baby is teething like crazy, which means no sleep at night. Hashtag I used to sleep at night.
  • I randomly decided to cut back on chocolate - which for the record is a terrible idea. But alas, here I am. And the cravings are real. Hoping that the less sugar I eat, the less I'll crave it.
  • Literally been obsessed with all things vintage/antique lately.
  • I kinda love Erika on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
  • Kensington's 1st birthday party preparations are officially underway. Invites will be going out very soon! I can't believe in such a short time, I will be a mom to a one-year-old. Wait, what?
  • I have an itching to re-do my blog layout, so I'm sure things will look a little different around here soon.
That's all folks. Going to sleep now, kthnx.

I think it's slightly unfair that just 5 days shy of my 29th birthday, my face is breaking out like I'm 16 again. What the hail, for real though? I'm pretty unhappy about it.
To make up for feeling 16 but actually celebrating a nearly-30-year-old birthday on Sunday, I decided to buy myself these pretties. Because 1) I'm obsessed with nude shoes - fact. And 2) They oddly remind me of shoes that I wore when I was itty bitty, minus the heel of course. Practically speaking, I rarely wear anything other than flats or tennis shoes. But a girl wants to feel fancy every now and again.

On another note, we are stinking excited to watch our house progress through each building stage. We are not new to building, as we built our first home too, but I think this go-around, it feels more fun! I am already imagining Kens running around the house and all of the memories that we'll make there. Bonus points: we already met one of our neighbors and they have a 6 month old daughter!
P.S. Speaking of "house", I can't frigging believe that time got away from us this weekend and we didn't binge watch House of Cards! I love that show and can't wait to see where this season goes, but I'm 99% positive it's gonna be supreme. #Underwood2016 riiiiiigght? Right.

Kensington Grace: Nine Months

Weight: 18lbs 5.5oz.

Height: 26.93in.

Hair: Light brown.

Eyes: Undecided still, but it seems like they are more greenish/grayish lately.

Clothes: Size 12 month. Homegirl is thick, so it really depends on the brand. I find that a lot of baby clothes are made for tall and skinny kiddos. What about short and fat kids?

Diapers: Using up our last size 3 box and then converting to size 4.

Sleeping: We are going to use the Rock N Play until it's last breath. We always start Kens in that, then we move her to our bed in the middle of the night. But for some reason, Kens has been sleeping longer stretches - and she even slept the entire night (7pm-830am) last night. I woke up horrified that maybe something was wrong. But nope - she was just tired and comfy. One of the small reasons we DO NOT believe in the cry-it-out method is because I have always been a horrible sleeper myself, usually waking up around 3am, wide awake. If I can't even sleep well, why should I expect my 9 month old to? We cater to her and if she wants to play in the middle of the night because she's bored (guilty as charged), we put her between us while we sleep and she bangs on our headboard and eventually passes back out herself.

Eating: Pretty much eats anything we give her! Doc said to do less formula these days and more table food - even though only one tooth has popped through. Doc said babies don't need teeth to eat table food. I guess they can naw on it with their sweet little gummies!

Kensie's favorite things: Crawling like a boss, standing, waving, copying everything everyone does, slapping our headboard on our bed, watching TV (mom of the year right here), people her own size, and smiling.

Mommy's favorite things: The first few minutes that Kens wakes up from a nap, she is the absolute sweetest thing EVER.

Daddy's favorite things: Showing her off in public. Making her clap.

Mommy's nicknames for Kensie: The baby. Kensie Koo, Kens.

Daddy's nicknames for Kensie: Kens.

New with Kensie: She has learned to share her toys. It is so sweet! She was playing with Grandpa Skinner really good over the weekend. He would roll a toy to her, ask her if he could have it back, so she'd grab it and give it to him. Also, she broke a took on 3/2/16 - her first one! Her second tooth, right next to the first, is sure to break through soon. Also, Kensie girl copies EVERYTHING.

Prayer: Thank you for giving us Kensington, Jesus! My prayer is that you, Jesus, are always at the center of our world so that she always sees you. I pray that you'll continue to help guide us through parenthood and through each stage of her life. Help us to know what to do when we feel lost or confused. I pray for safety and health over my baby girl. Please watch over her and protect her always. In your name I pray, AMEN!

***BONUS!*** And because I am late posting her 9 month update, here's a sweet little picture of our IN AND OUT DAY! Yep, that's right. Kens spend 39 weeks and 3 days inside my belly, which is also how old she is TODAY! (In case you're confused, the picture on the left was taken the day before she was born. That picture was taken around 10pm and I was induced the next morning, on 39w3d!)
